A reflective journal
In week 19, we continue the task of preparing for the design of a website. Properly understanding the client’s need is the main task.
Semester portfolio and the final of four Course Assignments for Semester 1 just handed in, and off we go for another semester! This time a subject with which I am fairly familiar; screen design.
My second assignment’s biggest takeaway was the realization of how important research is during a design process.
In week 07 we are getting down to the “core” of the matter as far as the graphic design goes: logo design and brand manual!
During week 06 we are learning about brand positioning, and how to develop a customer profile as well as a mood board.
The graphics I made for the local rock club’s upcoming gig are heavily influenced by two factors from the last few week’s of learning..!
During week 05 we will be introduced to the fundamentals of brand identity and how it fits in with the bigger picture of strategy.
The academic week 04’s theme is colour theory — something I work with every day in my job as a web and UX designer.
Week 03 is all about the fundamentals of typography, including its anatomy and use. We will also explore typography as a means of expression.
Due to a long planned vacation and the prioritising of the course assignment, I haven’t been able to finish the week 02 LT on schedule.
Week 02’s lesson is an introduction to sketching techniques. We are to draw some scamps for a juice packaging, and then finalize one of them as a logo.
This week’s lesson is an introduction to idea development, and we’re also being taught the SCAMPER method.
Just in time for the deadline, I have submitted my report and the Moodle illustration for grading. That first week was a busy one, but I survived!
First tasks almost finished! The journal is up, as is my self portrait. I’ve written an introduction in the forum, and a bio for my forum profile. Final task is this week’s test assignment.
Presentation page done, portrait up next!
I’ve enrolled in “Graphic design” at the Noroff school of technology and digital media. First task is nearly completed; to set up this blog – a reflective journal.
